....the inspiration

In short, this latest "project" of mine was an effort to sharpen my building skills, experiment, and to use as a "practice" run for a 16th scale split window I'm starting later this Winter. Basically, I took the best 24th/25th scale parts I had accumulated over the past projects & putzing around and threw 'em at this one. It all came into focus when I stumbled onto this particular photo thumbing through Google Corvette images and I thought "wow"....that's what I've been waitin' to build so off we went! My main goal was to create a raw, mean, just plain ol' kikazz pro stock vette and the idea of this old skool lookin' 65 got the creative juices flowin!

As usual with all my builds, nothing ever ends as it began~ I changed parts and re-built this & that a thousand times I'd say! After fussing with this vette for what seemed an eternity, finally decided to scrap some of the detailing ideas I had and just get it done. I'll save all the super-detailing for the 16th scale monstrosity coming up! There were a lot of mistakes and compromises with this car and it's nothing even close to what I originally invisioned, but it was a great learning experience and got me a little more prepared and confident for my next try. Definitely got a little better feel for custom-mixing these HOK lacquers that's for sure. Anyway, had a blast getting it done to the point I did, and hope you enjoy peeking at the end result as much as I did building it!
