My current victim......
It's been quite a few years since my last technical build, but I decided recently to make another all-out attempt to build a highly detailed, competition worthy Pro Mod ground pounder- so here we GO! Keeping my fingers (and toes!) crossed~**~ Close to my hometown of Oklahoma City, a local Hobbytown USA is sponsoring an NNL meet on Oct 3rd, and my plans are to definitely be in attendance with this finished car in-hand!
The body I ordered is my absolute favorite from Flashpoint Motorsport: a seriously mean lookin '69 Camaro part #(FPMCC69), and the graphics theme I decided on is the 2010 season Lucas Oil car. And yes, I realize the car was a Firebird, but I feel the Camaro body would have been a way better choice for 'em and they just somehow accidently went Firebird instead of Camaro, so I'm buildin this car the way I think they should have....so THERE!!
This is my very first "follow along" in-process project, so if you'd like to stay up with the car as it goes along and I actually make progress on it, please bookmark this page because here is where I'll keep all the progress current and up-to-date. Also......if you have any ideas, suggestions or comments...... please (please!) join the forum below!!
Thank you very much for your interest in this latest build~**~

June 1st~
First off, lots & lots of research on these newer style pro mod cars. My 1:1 knowledge is pretty dam limited, so diving head first into the subject on the net was my first step....and boy, did it prove fruitful! Endless image libraries on Google and photos of well built scale cars from all over helped somewhat inform me of how these things run and in what order they're put together. I also compiled a 2 part extensive parts order from Ted's Modeling Marketplace, RB Motion, and Future Attraction for the basic structural items, then a little further along I'll order in all the finishing & detail pieces and the fittings & rod ends from Ted. And btw, all 3 of these guys have been very supportive, informative, and more than helpful every step of the way! If it's high definition parts and great service you're after, I highly recommend them all!!

This technical drawing I stumbled upon is my primary reference for the basic chassis structure, and I have several photos of 1:1 cars (and LOTS of helpful tips and ideas from friends!) to help with the final detailing and finishing~ The 3 rod sizes I'm using for the basic construction are a combination of 3/64, .080 and .100.
Once the Flashpoint body arrives, I'll do mock-ups of the car and pics of the chassis components as I get it underway- so stay tuned and please send along your comments and tips/ideas!!
Thanks so much!
